There is nothing else better than this.
It’s true. It’s something that once my uni life comes to a close, I’ll reminisce. I’ll remember.
It’s not anything big or grandiose. No. No it’s not. It’s just family.
It’s family that accepts, family that loves, family that treasures, family that aspires. But most importantly, family that loves God.
Sorry, I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Ian. I’m the guy on the right. The guy that doesn’t like to take life too seriously. The guy that laughs too loud and banters a little bit too much. The guy that’s over the top.
But, I’ve found my family.
It’s this club, it’s God, it’s the God inside the people of this club.
No one’s perfect. I’m not perfect. Actually, I’m far far far from it. But they accept me, not because I’m anything great. Not because I’ve so-called “made it in life”, actually I too am a broke uni student. They accept me because they love God and I love God too.
Phillipians 4:13 says “I am able to do all things in Him who empowers me.”
It’s not out of my own strength that I can do anything. But because of God’s love and mercy that empowers and inspires me to keep going.
Some days, I may feel down, I may feel like it’s not worth it, I may feel the stress on my shoulders crushing me but the Lord Jesus had to go through all of that too. He too, lived a human life of suffering and condemnation but got through it. And to know that there is Someone living inside me that has gone through everything I have and is just waiting for me to turn to Him is heartwarming and the thing I am most thankful for.
And because of this, surrounding myself with people that have the same realisation as me allows me to feel connected to home.
I hope we all can have this one day too.
God bless and love you all
Ian
